Photography is important to me. It’s not just sitting back and allowing the right moment to happen. It is finely honing many separate moving parts into a perfect machine, bending the world into a new reality. This requires both a spot-on eye for design as well as a dedication to the business and mechanics of a shoot. I excel at all of these necessities. On the artistic side of things, I am passionate about telling a story through the perfecting marriage of the right model, setting, and light. Although I can easily shoot any type of product or idea, there are three areas within the medium with which I have extensive experience and talent.
I began my career as a fashion photojournalist, and have built a respectable place for my name within the industry over the past three years. This portion of my career also forced me to always be ready for the right moment to happen – there are no do-overs on the runway or on the street. I am also exceptionally qualified for shooting more stylized, constructed fashion shots. I have helped designers create lookbooks, marketing campaigns, and advertorials, presenting their products in compelling, eye-catching ways. I seek the new, the allegorical, the Modern – nothing is more necessary in this branch of the art than being able to tell a complete and complex story in one image.
Finally, I have recently begun exploring the art of food photography. As ever-changing, living objects, food is one of the most difficult subjects with which to work, and which I have mastered in a relatively short period of time. I specialize in taking that which we see and use every day and presenting it in an unthought-of, occasionally unrecognizable way. Beyond the shoot, I am unmatched in my dedication to pleasing the client. I excel at managing a team, sticking to a budget, and turning around a high quality product in minimal time. Choosing to hire me means that you get an artist on set and a businessman off camera.
